What you will do
- Structure, draft, negotiate and provide strategic advice on a wide range of commercial contracts, including master services agreements, data protection agreements, complex partnership agreements, reseller agreements, professional services agreements. The scope will involve supporting tenders and RFPs.
- Actively involved in and effectively collaborate with sales representatives, deployment strategists, applied AI engineers, data scientists, infosec, government affairs, marketing, communications and finance to support commercial success and ensure legal and regulatory compliance in APAC.
- Ownership and accountability to the team to deliver meaningful results, define priorities and manage clients amidst changing deadlines and demands.
- Stay updated on and ensure compliance with the latest AI-related legal and regulatory developments in APAC, and provide awareness and guidance to the organization on potential risks and opportunities.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement and deliver customised training and support to the regional team on legal and compliance matters related to AI and our business. Enable and equip one another with on-the-job coaching, sharing best practices and feedback to better support and grow the business as a team.
- Provide general legal support as needed (e.g., labor law, corporate matters, data privacy, procurement agreements and other contracts).
- Contribute towards operational excellence and pragmatic process improvement to support the growing business.

Who you are
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above (LLB, LLM, Juris Doctor preferred) from an accredited law school; admitted to practice law in Singapore.
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant legal experience, including negotiating complex technology transactions (AI-focused or related fields preferred), with at least 5 years in-house at technology companies covering APAC.
Public sector contract negotiation required.
- International Exposure: APAC experience preferred; proficiency in an Asian language is an advantage; comfortable working with cross-functional teams across time zones.
- AI Expertise: Solid legal and practical understanding of AI technologies (e.g., machine learning, NLP) and their applications; strong knowledge of data privacy, IP, contract law, regulatory, compliance, and ethical considerations.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex legal/technical AI issues, identify risks/solutions; detail-oriented, strong problem-solving; can advocate while remaining open-minded.
- Communication: Excellent written/verbal skills; strong presentation presence; ability to communicate legal advice and complex concepts clearly to internal teams and customers.
- Customer Focus: Customer-first, entrepreneurial mindset; strategic negotiator with quick-thinking and sound judgment.
