Your day-to-day responsibilities
- Team Specific
- Software and Hardware Delivery: Delivering ground segments (the "brain" of satellite operations, processing satellite data into images) to Mission business customers.
- Technical Support: Providing technical support for both satellite and ground segment systems for Mission customers. Issue analysis and problem solving.
- Maintenance and Upgrades: Performing planned maintenance and software upgrades for customer on-premise systems (actual software development is handled by the Engineering organization).
- Continuous Improvement: Contributing to continuous improvement to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of the team’s mission.
Role Specific
- Ensures ground segment systems reliably deliver satellite data and imagery to Mission customers.
- Maintains uninterrupted operations by proactively supporting and upgrading customer on-premise environments.
- Rapidly resolves technical issues to minimize downtime and protect mission-critical services.
- Builds trust with customers through responsive technical support and seamless deployments.
- Drives continuous improvement by collaborating across teams and refining operational processes.
What we’re looking for
- Technical Expertise: A strong dual foundation in both software development and DevOps principles, at least 5 years of professional experience with a focus on deployment, configuration, and operational management of software services, particularly within Kubernetes. Experience taking technical responsibility for a high-availability service.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English, enabling effective collaboration within an international team and with customer technical representatives.
- Qualifications: A Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- End-to-End System Diagnosis: Exceptional troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues across the entire stack—from underlying hardware and all layers of networking, up through vSphere, Linux, Kubernetes, and the applications themselves.
- Adaptability: Ability to participate in on-call rotation after 6 months onboarding is expected.
