Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Development
- People Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Business Systems Analysts and engineers, fostering high performance and continuous learning.
- Career Growth & Mentorship: Actively manage the career trajectories of your team, transitioning them from traditional support roles into "Strategic Engineers" and Automation Experts.

2. AI and GenAI Acumen
- AI Transformation: Possess experience with AI technologies for process improvement and efficiency gains in BSA and HRIS workflows.
- GenAI Application: Apply advanced knowledge of GenAI technologies to solve business problems, actively assessing technology and process trends for strategic alignment.
- Efficiency Scaling: Leverage AI to automate the "How" of HR operations, ensuring we are at the forefront of technological trends that reduce manual friction and enhance decision-making.
3. Architectural Strategy & Roadmap Leadership
- Future-State Vision: Define and execute a multi-year technical roadmap that synchronizes our People systems with broader enterprise goals.
- The "Tap & Sink" Governance: Lead Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) initiatives to ensure we are fixing data and process issues at the source (the "tap") rather than managing manual corrections in the downstream (the "sink").
- Automation: Identify and deploy automation capabilities to eliminate manual workflows and drive self-service excellence.
4. Product Excellence & System Design
- Technical Solutioning: Act as the lead architect for our HR stack, facilitating end-to-end solution design that bridges the gap between Workday and our engagement/talent platforms.
- SDLC Rigor: Own the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for HRIS, from initial feasibility and requirement gathering to rigorous testing and deployment.
5. Strategic Partnership & Influence
- Stakeholder Influence: Serve as a trusted technology advisor to HR People Leaders and HRBPs, translating complex people-strategies into scalable, technical requirements.
- Structured Governance & Feedback Loops: Enhance and own a formal intake framework for business requirements and a robust, collaborative User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process. Create disciplined feedback loops with the People Team to ensure all technical solutions are validated by end-users and deliver measurable business value.
- Bias for Action: Drive execution in a highly matrixed environment, consistently delivering tangible outcomes that improve the daily lives of our employees and operators.
Skills and Experience needed for success in this role
The AI & Technical Profile
- AI/GenAI Acumen: Proven experience in leveraging AI and GenAI for business process improvements. You have a deep understanding of how to apply large language models (LLMs) and predictive AI to HRIS workflows for maximum efficiency.
- Automation DNA: A proven track record of using Workato or similar enterprise iPaaS platforms to solve complex business problems. You are comfortable discussing data flows, API integrations, and practical AI application.
- Systems Expert: Deep, hands-on configuration experience with Workday is mandatory. Significant experience with Phenom (Talent), Culture Amp (Engagement), and Freshdesk (Service) is highly preferred.
The Leadership Profile
- People First: 5+ years of experience directly managing and developing technical teams. You have a proven track record of mentoring staff through significant technical and organizational transitions.
- Strategic BPR Experience: Advanced knowledge of business process redesign. You shouldn't just "fix" a system; you should rethink the entire process to make the system more efficient.
- Maturity & Judgment: You have the negotiation skills to challenge the status quo and the judgment to know when a requirement needs to be refined for the sake of system integrity.
Education & Experience
- Experience: 10+ years total leading Business Systems or HRIS functions in high-growth technology companies.
- Education: Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering. An MBA or advanced technical degree is a strong plus.

The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.
