Responsibilities
- Design, implement, improve, and help operationalize security controls across the enterprise.
- Partner with leadership to mature cybersecurity capabilities and support long term security architecture.
- Lead or contribute to security initiatives across key domains, including:
- Identity and access management
- Endpoint security
- Network & cloud security
- Data security
- Vulnerability and exposure management
- Logging, detection, and response enablement
- Evaluate current state security controls, identify gaps, and recommend practical, risk-based improvements.
- Help define and document security standards, architecture patterns, design decisions, and implementation guidance.
- Support implementation, integration, tuning, and lifecycle management of security technologies across the stack.
- Work cross functionally with technical and non technical stakeholders to ensure security controls are effective, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
- Help establish repeatable processes, technical standards, and strong engineering discipline across the security program.
- Contribute to a security culture that is collaborative, pragmatic, and focused on enabling the business while reducing risk.
Skills and Experience needed for success in this role
- Strong hands on experience in security engineering, including implementation, administration, and improvement of security controls
- Broad and deep experience across most security domains
- Experience implementing and supporting security tools and controls, not just advising on them
- Ability to move between tactical engineering work and higher-level architectural thinking
- Interest in architecture, with experience in technical design, documentation, standards, or best practice development
- Strong judgment in balancing security risk, business needs, and practical execution
- Experience working in environments where security is still maturing is highly valued

- Exposure to security architecture, control rationalization, or platform standardization efforts
- Experience working effectively in remote or distributed teams
Where: The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. With a widely distributed team, we are used to working remotely across different time zones. This role can be based anywhere in the United States – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position, and this role may require travel to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America.
