What you'll do
- Own the fabricated metal parts category at Form (with a focus on welded, fastened, and assembled metal fabrications as well as stamped brackets and sheet metal components), including commercial relationships and contracts within our supply base and the broader value chain
- Collaborate closely with Form’s Leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering and Strategic Supply teams to define and drive execution of Form’s metal parts sourcing strategy
- Negotiate and deliver favorable commercial terms that optimize costs, lead times, and risk to Form by managing the end-to-end sourcing process from supplier development through qualification, negotiation, and contracting
- Secure best-in-class pricing through detailed price analysis and negotiations, continual cost reductions, cost avoidance, and logistics optimization
- Monitor current category market conditions, evaluating supplier capacities and competitive landscapes, technology roadmaps and supply/demand challenges & opportunities
- Ensure Form is working with best-in-class suppliers and mitigating risks by rigorously analyzing component and manufacturing costs, performing risk analyses, forecasting industry trends, and leveraging your own expertise in supply markets and production processes
What you'll bring
- Deep category experience (2+ years) in metal parts strategic sourcing, market/pricing mechanics, and manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment
- Solid understanding of commercial terms, contract structures, and IP concepts
- Fact-based, detail-oriented, data-driven decision making along with strong analytical skills; ability to thrive in the face of ambiguity and make decisions based on partial information
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; an optimistic, high-energy “people person” with a strong desire to build collaborative relationships and make things happen
- Ability to work both independently and collaborate cross-functionally on multiple tasks and projects; a team-player
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or similar discipline
- Ability to work in the US and travel globally as necessary
