The opportunity: Legal Counsel, Operations
This is a contracting-focused role embedded within myTomorrows’ Legal & Compliance function. As Legal Counsel, Operations, you will own the end-to-end contracting lifecycle for our operational activities, from vendor agreements and site-level EAP agreements to observational study agreements, and build the legal infrastructure that enables our teams to scale efficiently and compliantly.
You will work directly alongside the patient recruitment, Expanded Access operations, and supply chain teams, acting as their primary legal partner for day-to-day contracting needs and risk management. As regulatory pathway advice for Expanded Access sits with our dedicated Regulatory team, and healthcare compliance with our Compliance Counsel, your focus is the operational and contractual layer: getting agreements right, building standards, and putting scalable legal operations in place.
This is the right role for a pragmatic, delivery-oriented lawyer who wants to build something, someone who enjoys creating structure, standardising processes, and being a genuine operational partner rather than a distant legal advisor.
Given that most of our team is located in the Netherlands, we only consider candidates for this position who live within commuting distance of our office in Amsterdam.
What you'll do in this role
Operational Contracting
- Draft, review, and negotiate the full range of operational agreements: NDAs, master service agreements and statements of work with our vendors, logistics and supply chain arrangements, and data processing agreements.
- Own and develop site-level EAP and non-interventional study agreements, creating and maintaining standardised templates for site agreements used across our Expanded Access operations globally.
- Define and implement contracting standards for operational agreement types, ensuring consistency, risk-appropriateness, and scalability across jurisdictions.
- Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and team empowerment through training and standardization
- Manage the operational contract lifecycle end-to-end: from initiation and negotiation through execution, renewal, and termination.
- Partner with the Operations team on day-to-day contractual queries, providing clear and timely practical guidance.
- Support commercial and partnership agreements for our wider business.
- Collaborate with Privacy Counsel to ensure GDPR-compliant data processing terms are embedded in all relevant operational agreements.
Legal Operations
- Take ownership of legal operations from the ground up. Assess what exists, identify the gaps, and put in place the foundations that allow the Legal & Compliance team to work at scale.
- Build on the team's reporting rhythm: a structured, repeatable way to give the General Counsel and senior leadership a clear picture of open matters, risk areas, and compliance deadlines.
- Create a foundational template and clause library covering the agreement types the business uses most, reducing time spent and enabling self-service.
- Identify and introduce the right legal technology for the company's current stage.
- Work with Compliance Counsel to establish consistent mechanisms for tracking and reporting compliance obligations and open matters.
What you bring to the table
- Qualified lawyer; admission to practice in the UK is a distinct advantage.
- 4+ years of post-qualification experience, with a strong track record in operational, commercial, or transactional contracting.
- Experience in the life sciences, CRO, or health tech sector or demonstrable exposure to pharmaceutical or clinical operations contracting.
- Hands-on expertise in drafting and negotiating NDAs, MSAs, service agreements, and data processing agreements.
- Familiarity with site-level agreements in a clinical or Expanded Access context is a meaningful plus.
- A builder's mindset: you have experience creating contract templates, processes, or legal ops infrastructure from the ground up, not just working within existing frameworks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international scale-up environment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong ability to give clear, practical legal guidance to non-legal operational stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of GDPR as it applies to data processing in operational and healthcare contexts.
What success in the first 6 months looks like
- EAP site agreement standard: A standardised, jurisdiction-flexible EAP site agreement template is in place and actively used by the Operations team, with a clear process for country-level adaptation.
- Contracting infrastructure: an improved contract management system is live, with templates, playbooks, and workflows covering the most common operational agreement types, reducing legal bottlenecks and improving turnaround times.
- Legal ops foundations: core legal & compliance operations tools and processes are implemented, including contract tracking, an intake process for the wider team, and a clause/template library.
- Trusted operations partner: You are embedded as the go-to legal contact for the Operations team, known for being responsive, practical, and enabling rather than a blocker.
