Key responsibilities of this role will include
Project Management & Delivery
- Serve as a Project Manager and/or Project Engineer for roadway design projects of varying complexity, including local agency and ODOT work, with an emphasis on pursuing and delivering ODOT projects
- Manage all aspects of project delivery, including tasks, budgets, schedules, resources, and development of scopes and staffing plans to ensure successful outcomes
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, maintaining accountability for overall project performance
- Participate in project meetings, presentations, and stakeholder coordination activities.
Client Coordination & Business Development
- Coordinate with clients, including ODOT, local agencies, and stakeholders, to define project requirements and maintain strong relationships through clear, consistent communication
- Support business development efforts, including proposals, scope development, client engagement, and contributions to ODOT and local agency pursuits
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, utilities, and stakeholders to support project delivery and ensure compliance
Technical Design, Execution, & Quality
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of roadway design projects, including geometric design, plan development, and overall technical delivery
- Perform and or oversee detailed engineering analysis and preparation of project deliverables, including plans, specifications, and technical documentation
- Ensure quality and compliance by applying QA and QC processes in alignment with applicable standards and ODOT requirements
Technical Expertise & Support
- Serve as a technical advisor on complex design issues and project strategy, providing input on technical approaches and execution while supporting high-quality delivery
- Mentor and support junior staff through technical guidance, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, while working with senior leadership and internal teams to deliver successful projects
Qualifications for this role
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Ohio
- 10+ years of experience in roadway and highway design, including project management experience on ODOT transportation projects
- Experience supporting pursuits, proposals, or client development activities preferred
- Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads required; experience in AutoCAD, and Civil 3D preferred
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects to successful completion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience working with clients and stakeholders
- Demonstrated commitment to quality, accuracy, and excellence
