What you will be doing
Board & Executive Reporting
- Contribute to board and investor materials, ensuring financial narrative is clear, accurate, and tells a coherent story.
- Support the CFO in preparing for board meetings, investor updates, and external financial communications.
Business Cases & Investment Decisions
- Lead the development of rigorous business cases for major investment decisions — new programmes, capital expenditure, technology platforms, and strategic partnerships.
- Challenge assumptions, stress-test financial models, and present clear go / no-go recommendations to the CFO and executive team.
- Own post-investment reviews to close the loop on business case assumptions and improve future decision-making.
Strategic Planning & Long-Range Forecasting
- Own the long-range financial plan, working alongside the FP&A Director and executive team to translate strategic ambition into financially coherent multi-year models.
- Identify the key value drivers across the business and build the analytical frameworks that connect operational activity to financial outcomes.
- Provide forward-looking insight on revenue, margin, and cash — surfacing risks and opportunities before they appear in the numbers.
FP&A Process Transformation
- Redesign and simplify the budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes to reduce cycle time and increase the quality of insight delivered to decision-makers.
- Drive the implementation and adoption of planning and BI tooling, shifting the function away from manual spreadsheet dependency.
- Establish clear FP&A standards, templates, and governance that scale with the business.
Project & Stakeholder Leadership
- Take ownership of cross-functional finance projects from scoping through to delivery, bringing in the right people — from Finance, Operations, or the wider business — at the right time.
- Set clear direction and maintain momentum on workstreams that span multiple teams, ensuring accountability without requiring formal authority.
- Elevate the quality of financial work across the team by sharing knowledge, setting standards, and creating an environment where rigour and commercial thinking are the norm.
