Our location in Colombia currently has an opportunity for a Software QA Test Specialist. This role supports Abbott Medical Device IT by ensuring the quality, reliability, and regulatory compliance of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) solutions. The position focuses on validating system changes, integrations, and configurations in a regulated medical device environment, supporting business operations, quality, and compliance objectives.WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Plan, execute, and document software testing for LIMS enhancements, configurations, integrations, and upgrades.
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts aligned to business and regulatory requirements.
- Perform functional, regression, integration testing across LIMS and interfacing systems. Ensures test evidence and documentation meet audit and inspection readiness expectations.
- Support User Acceptance Test activities as needed.
- Identify, document, and track defects and deviations through resolution.
- Test software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
- Document and work to resolve all problems.
- Report progress on problem resolution to management.
- Devise improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations.
- Perform work flow analysis and recommends quality improvements.Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in software testing or quality assurance.
- Experience in software QA/testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration testing).
- Understanding of system validation in regulated environments (preferably medical devices).
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage defects, testing cycles, and reporting.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with LIMS or similar laboratory/quality systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (FDA, GxP, CSV).
- Experience supporting audits and inspections.
- Knowledge of test automation or scripting tools is a plus.
