Your day-to-day responsibilities
Grow ICEYE’s Solutions business in the Japanese insurance and banking markets by originating and closing new contracts with new customers, and extending the scope of use of ICEYE solutions within our existing customer base.
Develop the end-to-end Go-To-Market strategy for Japan, identifying and capturing new market opportunities with ICEYE’s innovative solutions
Contribute to a regional GTM strategy, grounded in structured market intelligence to inform ICEYE’s global commercial strategy, prioritize target accounts, and guide product development and resource allocation
- Take full ownership of a designated strategic anchor account within the Japanese insurance market, with end-to-end responsibility for relationship development, revenue growth, and long-term partnership success. This is a long-standing ICEYE customer and account
- Build and execute account plans that position ICEYE as a mission-critical partner to this anchor client, expanding across business units and use cases
- Grow and develop a multi-year opportunity pipeline (2026–2028), establishing a sustainable foundation for long-term growth and recurring partnerships across the insurance sector
- Establish ICEYE as a recognized leader and trusted partner within the Japanese financial services ecosystem through consistent engagement with insurers, reinsurers, brokers and banks, and through industry events
- Build and nurture long-term, trust-based relationships with C-suite executives and key decision-makers across major Japanese enterprises
- Act as a bridge between ICEYE’s global teams and local customers, aligning expectations and translating business needs into technical and commercial solutions
- Drive collaboration with ICEYE’s Missions, Data, and Solutions teams to identify and close integrated opportunities, ensuring coherent positioning and value creation across product lines
- Support and contribute to GTM strategy and sales execution across APAC, leveraging Japan as a reference market while selectively developing regional opportunities
- Identify opportunities for disaster-resilience and catastrophe-related solutions, leveraging Japan’s unique risk landscape to pilot and scale new SAR-based offerings
- Act as an internal advocate to productize locally developed solutions and integrate them into ICEYE’s global roadmap.
What we’re looking for
Must haves
- 10+ years of sales experience, preferably within the insurance industry
- Strong experience selling to insurers/reinsurers or banks (ideally both), in Japan
- Proven track record in complex, consultative, and strategic enterprise sales, including ownership of large, strategic accounts
- Deep understanding of the Japanese sales cycle, including trust-based relationship building, consensus-driven decision-making, and long-term account development
- Strong cultural fluency with the ability to operate effectively in high-context Japanese business environments while bridging to a fast-paced, low-context global organization
- Experience working with or within large Japanese corporations, or selling high-value solutions into them
- Existing network within the Japanese P&C insurance ecosystem (insurers, reinsurers, brokers, or industry bodies), ideally similar in the Japanese banking sector
- Experience in geospatial data, analytics, catastrophe modeling, or related solutions is a strong advantage
- Ability to operate with high autonomy—building strategy from the ground up and adapting quickly based on market feedback
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with experience working across product, operations, and customer-facing teams
- Fluency in Japanese (native-level, including business etiquette) and English required; additional languages are a plus
