Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Engineering and Automation
- Provision and manage AWS GovCloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Build and maintain automated, STIG-hardened container pipelines using ECR and ECS
- Automate provisioning, patching, and configuration management across Linux and Windows fleets
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployment
- Manage core services including EC2, VPC networking, S3, IAM, and supporting WorkSpaces environments
Operations and Reliability
- Monitor production environments and respond to operational issues using CloudWatch and related tooling
- Troubleshoot networking, DNS, identity, and compute issues across hybrid, Active Directory-integrated environments
- Implement and tune logging, metrics, and alarms to maintain visibility while reducing alert noise
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for production workloads
- Drive continuous improvement in reliability, performance, and cost efficiency
Security and Compliance
- Apply hardened baselines and least-privilege IAM policies across cloud resources
- Remediate findings and reduce access-control noise in coordination with the security team
- Support audit, compliance, and authorization activities with accurate documentation and evidence
Collaboration
- Work closely with architects and security engineers to implement designs securely and reliably
- Document infrastructure, runbooks, and automation for the broader team
- Participate in design reviews, backlog refinement, and sprint planning
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required
- 3+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience, preferably with AWS
- Strong experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation)
- Proficiency administering Linux and Windows systems in cloud environments
- Solid understanding of cloud networking including VPC, subnets, routing, DNS, and security groups
- Experience with IAM, least-privilege access, and cloud security fundamentals
- Scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical, root-cause approach
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in AWS GovCloud or other regulated or federal cloud environments
- Familiarity with STIG hardening, DISA baselines, or DoD compliance frameworks
