About the Role
As our Director of Corporate Development, you will serve as the primary architect of CSC Generation's inorganic growth strategy — owning the full M&A lifecycle from sourcing and thesis development through diligence, negotiation, and post-merger integration. This role exists because we are actively expanding our portfolio and need a senior operator who can both build the pipeline and execute against it with speed and rigor.
You will work directly with the CEO and executive team to evaluate strategic partnerships, acquisition targets, and investment opportunities across the retail and consumer landscape. At 6–12 months, success means a structured deal pipeline with clear investment theses, at least one transaction moved through diligence or closed, and integration frameworks that allow acquired brands to plug into the Genesis platform without disruption.
What You'll Do
Strategy & Pipeline
- Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and refine CSC Generation's corporate development strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and growth targets.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and potential investment opportunities within the retail and consumer sectors.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships and alliances that enhance CSC Generation's competitive position, drive revenue growth, and expand market reach.
Deal Execution
- Lead the end-to-end M&A process, including target prioritization, operational and financial due diligence, valuation analysis, negotiation, and deal structuring.
- Perform financial modeling, valuation analysis, and investment thesis development to evaluate potential acquisition targets and partnership opportunities.
- Identify and assess risks associated with potential transactions and develop mitigation strategies to protect CSC Generation's interests.
Integration & Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with operational teams to develop and execute post-merger integration plans, ensuring seamless transition and realization of synergies across the Genesis platform.
- Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, board members, investors, and potential partners.
Leadership
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to cross-functional deal teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, with a proven track record of executing complex M&A transactions and strategic partnerships.
- Deep understanding of the retail and consumer industries, with experience evaluating market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and growth opportunities.
- Strong financial acumen, including proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and deal structuring.
- Demonstrated ability to present deal recommendations, investment theses, and risk assessments clearly to executive and board-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams through ambiguous, high-stakes transactions.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams across diligence, negotiation, and integration with precision and urgency.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience executing acquisitions within e-commerce, omnichannel retail, or consumer brand portfolios.
- Existing relationships with investment banks, PE firms, or sell-side advisors active in the consumer/retail sector.
- Experience working within a platform or holding company structure with multiple portfolio brands.
- Familiarity with technology-enabled operating models or shared-services integration.
