Your day-to-day responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead a cross-domain, multi-disciplinary team of 5+ members through the full lifecycle of the radar payload and downlink data systems.
- Manage and mentor a diverse group of engineers, ranging from junior levels to highly experienced staff-level technical experts, including a focus on developing our Electronic/RF engineering talent.
- Take ownership of project timelines, schedules, and resource allocation for complex, end-to-end hardware development cycles.
- Present daily or weekly progress updates, effectively summarizing and translating complex engineering constraints, risks, and milestones to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Staff Engineers and Technical Leads, focusing your efforts on facilitating their success, aligning cross-functional work, and removing roadblocks so they can focus on technical execution.
Requirements
Must haves
- 5+ years of proven industry experience working hands-on as a designer (electronics, or RF), strongly emphasizing applied industrial product development. You must have this foundational design experience to properly understand, estimate, and coordinate the team's workload.
- Experience designing complex PCB and RF subsystems.
- 5+ years of experience managing and coordinating engineering teams of more than 5 people.
- Experience leading senior technical experts. You must be comfortable guiding highly experienced staff members.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating the full product lifecycle end-to-end for complex systems.
- A strong background in coordinating cross-domain and multi-disciplinary projects (experience managing teams responsible for complex, interconnected systems rather than small, isolated tasks is essential).
- Strong communication skills and the interpersonal ability to manage timelines, balance priorities, and regularly interface with non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to haves
- While deep technical expertise in RF is not required, fundamental knowledge of RF, aerospace hardware, or spaceborne payload systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with the project management challenges of developing downlink data systems and highly reliable electronics.
