The Opportunity
Group travel is one of the most complex, high-value, and underdeveloped categories in corporate travel. Engine is building the infrastructure to dominate it. As the Principal PM for Groups Connectivity, you'll own the foundational layer that makes it all work: the integrations, APIs, and supplier relationships that determine whether a group hotel inquiry turns into a booking in minutes or days.
This is a high-autonomy, high-stakes role at the intersection of product, partnerships, and platform architecture. You'll work closely with a principal architect and senior engineering talent to rewire how Engine connects with the hospitality supply chain, from PMS integrations to real-time room availability to instant booking capabilities. The decisions you make here will compound across every group booking Engine processes.
Your Mission
- Own the connectivity roadmap: Define and drive the strategy for how Engine integrates with hotel supply at scale. That means PMS partnerships (think: Hotel Key and beyond), real-time availability pipelines, and the APIs that make instant group booking a reality rather than a manual slog.
- Drive hotel response rate to zero friction: Today, some of the highest-volume hotel partners respond to RFPs at single-digit rates. You'll build the product strategies and integrations that change that math and do it at scale.
- Architect platform-level thinking: Design connectivity infrastructure that can support not just internal Groups workflows, but potential B2B API offerings that extend Engine's reach into the broader travel ecosystem.
- Lead cross-functional alignment: Partner with Groups Contracting, Engineering, RevOps, and external supply partners to surface bottlenecks, prioritize the highest-leverage opportunities, and ship solutions that compound over time.
- Bring AI into the mix: Identify where intelligent automation and AI-assisted workflows (e.g., document interpretation, RFP matching, contract comparison) can accelerate cycle times and reduce manual overhead.
What You'll Bring to Engine
- Experience: 10+ years in product management, with meaningful experience building platform or connectivity products at scale. Background working with APIs, integrations, or supply-side infrastructure is strongly preferred. Exposure to travel, hospitality, or adjacent industries is a plus but not required.
- Technical depth: You don't need to write the code, but you need to speak the language. You're comfortable in rooms with principal engineers and external technical partners, and you know how to translate complex systems constraints into clear product decisions.
- Builder's instincts: You've operated in environments with real ambiguity and know how to define a problem before you solve it. You can build a standalone business case, a roadmap, and a working relationship with a supplier partner, often in the same week.
- Transformational mindset: This role exists to change the foundation of how group travel gets booked. We're not looking for someone to optimize around the edges. We want someone who sees what the system could be and has the conviction and skill to get there.
- Stakeholder range: You're as comfortable in a product review as you are in a partner negotiation. You bring structure to cross-functional chaos without slowing things down.
Applications for this role will be accepted through September 1, 2026 or until the role is filled. We encourage you to apply early, as we may begin reviewing applications before the deadline.
