Purpose of the Role
The Product Operations Manager provides the operational backbone that keeps product squads moving at pace. A true generalist, this role spans strategy, delivery, data, and process - no two days are the same.
They drive momentum, solve problems, and remove obstacles so teams can deliver quickly, effectively, and at consistently high standards. By streamlining delivery processes, maintaining governance and documentation discipline, and ensuring alignment across teams, they enable Product Owners to focus on strategic priorities while safeguarding execution quality.
The role is hands-on and adaptive - anticipating issues, connecting dots across teams, and ensuring progress continues from concept through to launch and beyond.
Key responsibilities
- Drive operational excellence across product squads by optimising delivery processes, governance, and documentation
- Ensure new product initiatives and platform changes are well-defined, compliant, and launch-ready through structured business cases and approval processes
- Act as a delivery enabler - removing blockers, coordinating stakeholders, and maintaining the documentation and data foundations needed for rapid, high-quality execution
- Partner with Product Owners, Engineers, and Data Analysts to ensure reliable metrics, dashboards, and insights guide decision-making and prioritisation
- Track performance post-launch, monitor product stability and adoption, and facilitate continuous improvement through structured feedback loops
- Lead planning and operational cadences (KPIs, standups, retrospectives), maintaining momentum and alignment across teams
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance delivery speed, quality, and scalability
- Drive product strategy by translating operational insights, customer feedback, and market intelligence into future feature direction, ensuring delivery execution aligns with strategic priorities and the long-term product vision
Required experience & skills
- Degree in STEM or other quantitative field
- Minimum 2 years experience in a high performance environment (consultancy, investment bank, high-growth tech company, etc.)
- Ability to solve complex problems independently
- Deep empathy for customers and commitment to user-centred design without compromise
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of influencing across functions
- Data-driven mindset, able to turn insights into actionable improvements
- Strong ownership mentality – proactive, accountable, and execution-focused approach
Nice to have
- Experience building or scaling successful products - particularly financial or data-driven - using analytics, customer feedback, and pragmatic judgment
- Understanding of machine learning applications in product optimisation
