What You Will Be Doing
Qualified candidates must demonstrate the following competencies and consistently perform these essential functions:
Project Management Excellence
- Effectively manage project scope, budget, and schedule across concurrent assignments
- Develop comprehensive project plans including detailed instructions, scope of work definitions, level of effort estimates, and accurate man-hour projections
- Maintain precise and current project accounting records for all assigned projects
- Ensure optimal time management and consistently deliver high-quality work products
- Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards
Client Communication and Reporting
- Conduct professional written or oral project reporting for clients and internal leadership
- Provide regular updates on design status, upcoming milestones, project financials, percent completion, and progress tracking
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications
Quality Assurance
- Develop, implement, and execute Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) Plans
- Ensure all deliverables meet Stanley's quality standards and client expectations
Collaboration and Development
- Facilitate and lead internal and external project workshops and coordination meetings
- Pursue continuing education and professional development aligned with project requirements and team needs
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
Technical Leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams including civil, process, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & controls (I&C) engineers, designers, and CAD technicians
- Oversee the development and delivery of diverse water sector projects across Stanley's Water Market
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in either Civil Engineering, or Environmental Engineering is required.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with no less than 2 years’ experience working with project teams as project manager.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Iowa is required; or must be able to obtain within 6 months of hire date.
- Previous experience having been in responsible charge of designs, including detailed plans and specifications.
- Must have a basic understanding of the multi-disciplined practices (i.e. process, surveying, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control) required for the implementation of water/wastewater infrastructure improvements.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook.
Ideal Candidate
- Demonstrate advanced technical competency in civil , municipal, or water/wastewater engineering, with strong foundational knowledge of civil engineering principles
- Previous experience having been in responsible charge of designs including for water and wastewater collection, distribution, and/or pumping projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
