The Role
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the integrity of our financial records, improving processes, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role is also open to applicants in Canada or Mexico.
What You'll Help BuildFinancial Reporting & General Ledger Management
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are properly recorded and classified.
Accounts Reconciliation & Compliance
- Perform monthly sales to cash receipts reconciliation
- Perform monthly fulfillment information to sales order for revenue recognition
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts, inventory, and accruals.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Support external audits and tax filings by providing necessary documentation and reports.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Assist in the development and enforcement of internal controls and best practices.
Operational Accounting & Cross-Functional Support
- Prepare cash burn reporting semi-monthly
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support inventory accounting, cost analysis, and revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and other teams to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
Technology & Automation
- Utilize and optimize ERP and accounting software (Netsuite experience preferred).
- Support automation initiatives to streamline accounting workflows.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth startup, consumer technology, or e-commerce environment.
- Previous experience in public accounting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with all levels of management.
- Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving business environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
