Ascentia, part of Collins Aerospace (an RTX business), is a leading analytics platform for commercial aviation. Ascentia applies advanced analytics, physics-based modeling, statistical analysis, and machine learning to aviation data to deliver actionable intelligence that helps airlines improve operational reliability, make smarter maintenance decisions, and reduce costly disruptions.
Ascentia is looking for a Senior Product Manager to drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for our analytics product suite. This is a highly technical, customer-facing role at the intersection of airline operations, aircraft systems engineering, and advanced analytics. The Senior Product Manager will own the evolution of core platform capabilities and help shape how Ascentia continues to deliver value across the connected aviation ecosystem.
You will lead, inspire, and support a Product Management Team (PMT). As a hands-on leader, you will help the team translate deep domain knowledge — how airlines actually run maintenance operations, how dispatch decisions get made, what operational disruptions really cost, and how aircraft systems behave over their lifecycle — into technical, operational, and business requirements that engineering can execute against. You will work closely with engineering, data science, OEM systems experts, and airline customers to prioritize the work that delivers the greatest operational and financial impact.
Regardless of role, we expect excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all hires at Ascentia. We look for candidates who thrive in a high-trust environment — who demonstrate clear communication, embrace open feedback, trust their colleagues, and are driven to execute, deliver, and complete projects independently and efficiently.
What You Will Do
- Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Ascentia’s application product lines in coordination with Collins Aerospace executive leadership, sales, marketing, and engineering.
- Use evidence-based decision-making — grounded in airline operational data, customer feedback, and measurable business outcomes — to prioritize initiatives effectively.
- Drive the evolution of the platform’s analytics capabilities and the customer experience around them.
- Partner closely with Collins OEM systems experts, data scientists, and ML engineers to translate deep domain knowledge into commercially viable product features.
- Lead integration strategy across the broader connected aviation ecosystem.
- Develop and maintain product roadmaps that guide engineering, marketing, and sales teams on priorities and deliverables. Clearly articulate the “what,” “when,” and “why” of what Ascentia is building.
- Effectively coordinate between airline customers, internal Collins stakeholders, and the technical team to align on priorities and tradeoffs.
- Collect, analyze, and prioritize input about Ascentia’s products and markets from customers, prospects, industry analysts, airframers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support sales and marketing by attending customer and prospect meetings, supporting RFPs, participating in industry events, and creating product-related content.
- Make sound business decisions based on tradeoffs between cost, engineering effort, regulatory considerations, and customer value.
- Mentor and grow Product Owners, Data Engineers, Data Scientists and other PMT members to foster an extremely high-performing team.
- Lead and support a culture of collaboration, critique, and candid feedback.
- Motivate the team with clear, engaging goals and initiatives tied to measurable outcomes for airline customers.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field (Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related) and minimum 7 years of experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Product Management, preferably with a SaaS or enterprise data platform product.
- Experience with aircraft systems, aviation data standards, and how aircraft-generated data flows from the aircraft to ground systems.
- Experience with airline maintenance concepts including scheduled vs. unscheduled maintenance, dispatch reliability, MRO workflows, and part provisioning.
- Experience working with Agile teams and processes in a regulated or safety-critical software environment.
- Experience defining and shipping data-rich products — whether that involves predictive models, large-scale data pipelines, analytics dashboards, or low-code/no-code tooling.
- Experience with the aviation industry and the commercial airline ecosystem.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Prior experience in aircraft predictive maintenance or a closely related aviation analytics domain is highly preferred.
- Direct airline industry experience is a significant advantage — candidates who have worked at an airline (in operations, maintenance, engineering, MRO, or IT) or at an aviation software vendor serving airlines will be strongly preferred.
- Prior tenure at a commercial airline in a maintenance engineering, reliability engineering, maintenance control, or digital/IT role.
- Prior experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or engineer on an aviation analytics, predictive maintenance, or MRO software platform.
- Background in aerospace engineering, data science, or a related technical discipline.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to commercial aviation maintenance and software.
- Excellent internal and external communication skills, including the ability to present to airline maintenance executives, VPs of Engineering, and C-suite stakeholders.
